Elna Pro 704 Sewing Machine. The blades on my Elna PRO 704 have stopped cutting - it looks like they are not close enough together

Old Question!! Blade Adjustment screws loose? ================================== If your Elna PRO 704 serger has stopped cutting, it is usually caused by the upper blade being disengaged, heavy lint buildup in the cutter housing, loose blade adjustment screws, or a dull/nicked knife set. [1, 2] Common Fixes to Check
  • Blade Engagement: Make sure the movable upper blade is fully locked and rotated back into its active cutting position rather than left down or unlocked for a rolled hem. [1, 2]
  • Loose Knob/Screw: Check if the knob or set screw that holds the moving blade pressure has slipped or worked loose, which stops the upper and lower blades from pressing firmly against each other like scissors. [1]
  • Lint and Debris: Open the side/front cover and clean out packed lint or fabric shreds trapped around the lower knife plate that prevent proper closing. []
  • Dull or Damaged Blades: Test the edges with your fingernail for nicks-especially if you accidentally sewed over a pin-which means you need replacement blades. You can find compatible parts like a Replacement Lower Knife or an Upper and Lower Knife Set online if yours are worn out. [1, 2, 3]

Does the Elna Carina Golden Jubilee convert to a free arm machine~thanks

Yes it does, there is a little button in front base just near reverse lever, which releases a spring and front base leg will move forward. Also remove accessory case and voila, free arm

Instruction Manual for Elna Lock L1 overlocker

Unfortunately, the Elna Lock L1 manual is not available for free online. You can purchase a printed copy of the manual here: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/instruction-book-elna-l1-serger.aspx . Since many parts of the serger are the same between models, the L4 manual may help set up the L1. The L4 manual is available at ManualsLib: https://www.manualslib.com/products/Elna-Lock-L4-3172471.html . I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

You can purchase the manual (paper copy) here: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/products/elna-245-instruction-book for $15. For a download version ($7), see https://becsew.com/products/elna-elnita-244-245-instruction-manual-download . Elna 7300 what problem is code S7 when buttonholing?

The S7 error code on the Elna 7300 while buttonholing typically indicates an issue with the buttonhole foot or sensor. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue: 1. Check the Buttonhole Foot
  • Proper Attachment: Ensure the buttonhole foot is securely attached. An improperly attached foot can trigger an error.
  • Correct Foot: Verify you are using the correct buttonhole foot for your machine model.
2. Buttonhole Sensor
  • Clean the Sensor: Dust or lint can obstruct the sensor. Clean the sensor area thoroughly.
  • Positioning: Ensure the sensor is correctly positioned and aligned with the foot.
3. Buttonhole Settings
  • Correct Settings: Confirm you have selected the correct buttonhole settings. The S7 error may occur if the settings do not match the foot and fabric requirements.
  • Reset Settings: Reset the buttonhole settings to default and try again.
4. Fabric and Stabilizer
  • Use Stabilizer: Use an appropriate stabilizer for your fabric. Thin or stretchy fabrics can cause issues.
  • Proper Fabric Placement: Ensure the fabric is properly placed and secured under the foot.
5. Machine Reset
  • Turn Off and On: Turn off the machine, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on. A simple reset can clear the error.
  • Factory Reset: If needed, perform a factory reset per the manual's instructions.
6. Consult the Manual
  • Reference Guide: Refer to the Elna 7300 manual for specific instructions and troubleshooting tips related to the S7 error code.
  • Error Codes Section: There may be specific guidance on addressing the S7 error in the manual.
Professional Service If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider taking your machine to an authorized Elna service centre for professional diagnosis and repair.

I have the elna 664pro when a do the roll hem 3thread the machines make a click sound as if something like the needle is getting hooked on something metal. and at the top thread keeps on braking.

change the needles, any noise would indicate that needle(s) are touching the loopers or blunt. Make sure that the needles are hard up into the housing too, even a mm down and they can strike the loopers, or prevent the stitch from forming.

Looking for replacement spool pins for my elna tsp 72c

No longer available according to sewing parts online, you'll probably have to hunt down a parts machine, a sewing machine tech with old stock parts, or maybe White Sewing Centre in USA may have some. The plastic bit around them often broke too, have you checked inside the machine incase the pin fell in? You can always use a freestanding spool stand.

You could try White Sewing Centre if you are in USA, he may have something compatible. Its a long skinny bulb slightly different to the Swiss Elna Models after it, which take a bayonet riva 15w bulb. I could not find one locally here in Australia, so just use her with an angle poise lamp over her.

Elna top 300 sewing machine, hook shuttle is loose

Troubleshoot this problem together! Here are some steps you can take to address the issue: Check for Loose Threads or Foreign Objects: Turn off your sewing machine and unplug it for safety. Open the bobbin case area and inspect for any loose threads, lint, or foreign objects. Remove any debris you find. Make sure the bobbin and bobbin case are properly inserted. Inspect the Shuttle: Look closely at the shuttle (the part that holds the bobbin) for any signs of damage, wear, or burrs. If you notice any scratches or rough edges, it may be causing the shuttle to move loosely. In that case, consider replacing the shuttle. Lubrication: Regularly oil your sewing machine using sewing machine oil. Proper lubrication helps prevent issues like this. Follow your machine's manual for specific oiling instructions. Electrical Connections: Check the foot pedal and power cord connections. Loose or damaged wires can affect the machine's performance. Ensure that the machine is correctly plugged in. Bobbin Winding: If the bobbin isn't winding properly, it could lead to loose stitches. Make sure the bobbin winding process is smooth and even. Tension and Stitch Problems: Incorrect tension settings or threading can cause stitch problems. Re-thread your machine, adjust the tension, and ensure you're using the correct needle. If the thread keeps breaking, try adjusting the tension. Remember to always follow safety precautions when working with electrical appliances. If the issue persists, consult your Elna sewing machine manual or consider seeking professional assistance. Sewing Machine Shuttle Problems and its Solution Tips (sewingmachineconsider.com)

My Elna Stitch Craft 4000 sews very small stitches even after I adjust the length?

It sounds like there might be an issue with the settings or mechanism of your Elna Stitch Craft 4000 sewing machine. Even after adjusting the stitch length, if it continues to sew very small stitches, there are a few things you can try: 1. **Check the Stitch Length Dial**: Ensure that you are adjusting the stitch length dial correctly. Sometimes, the dial may not be turning properly or may be stuck, leading to the machine sewing at the same small stitch length regardless of your adjustments. 2. **Clean and Oil the Machine**: A sewing machine that hasn't been cleaned or oiled in a while can have issues with stitch length consistency. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to clean out any lint or debris from the machine and oil the necessary parts. 3. **Inspect the Feed Dogs**: The feed dogs are responsible for moving the fabric through the machine. If they are not functioning properly or are obstructed, it can affect the stitch length. Check for any debris or damage to the feed dogs and clean or replace them if needed. 4. **Check the Bobbin Tension**: Incorrect bobbin tension can also cause irregular stitch lengths. Make sure the bobbin is correctly threaded and that the tension is adjusted according to the machine's specifications. 5. **Test with Different Fabric and Thread**: Sometimes, the type of fabric or thread being used can affect stitch length. Try sewing on different types of fabric with different threads to see if the issue persists across various materials. If none of these steps resolve the problem, it may be necessary to have the machine inspected and serviced by a professional technician. They can identify any underlying mechanical issues that may be causing the small stitch length problem.
