My Singer 6105 won't pick up the bobbin thread, makes a funny noise (sort of deep and "loose" sounding, if you know what I mean), and hand wheel feels stiff.
I've cleaned it twice, swapped out the needle, and taken the top plate, face plate, and first wheel plate to see if I can find the problem. I've plugged it in with the plates off and tried running it with no needle or threading to try to see what is going on. Nothing has immediately struck me as wrong, but I'm still very much a novice in the area of sewing machine repairs, and it's been a while since the last time I had this machine open, so I'm not really sure what I'm looking for.
Nothing seems to be helping. I don't know what happened; it was a few days ago. I've always taken good care of my machines, and the only trouble I've had with this one since I got it about a year ago is that the knob to disengage the needle mechanism has pretty much never worked. I just had to run the needle while threading the bobbin.
Could that have caused it?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! I'm pretty handy and so is my dad, so I'm hoping that between the two of us and some vintage parts, we'll be able to fix this and I won't have to get a new machine.
Babylock Serger BLSE300 manual is no longer in print and I need one. Any ideas? I've tried , Babylock site, Ebay and general Google searches with no success.
