C6400 is a fixing unit error.

To reset -

Try this, enter "10871087" from keypad, You should now be in maintenance mode.
Enter "163"press "Start / Print" key.

You should see a screen that says "Execute".

Cursor / highlight "Execute".

Press "Start / Print key.

The machine will turn off and should come back to ready. If not then you need to replace the fixing unit.

C6400

C6400 is a fixing unit error. You may need a new fixing unit but most of the time it can be reset in maintenance mode.

Use the following steps to enter the maintence mode, once there follow the steps for maintence mode 163 (reset fuser error). Do not do anything else in the maintenance mode area because you could damage your machine.


Press the system menu/counter key.

Select Service setting using the up/down cursor keys.


While pressing the start key and the # key, press the enter key.


Select Maintenance mode using the up/down cursor keys.


Press the enter key.

Enter the maintenance item number (163) using the up/down keys.


Press the enter key.

1. Press the enter key. A selection item appears.


2. Select Execute using the up/down cursor keys.


3. Press the enter key. The fusing problem data is initialized. (Four service calls, namely C6000, C6020, C6050, and C6400 are reset.)

Completion


Press the back key. The indication for selecting a maintenance item No. appears.

Description

Resets the detection of a service call code indicating a problem in the fusing section.

When a service call concerning the fusing section occurs, turn the power switch off and open the front cover.

Then, turn the power switch on and press the system menu/counter key to enter the maintenance mode.

To prevent accidents due to an abnormally high fusing temperature.

Method

1. Press the enter key. A selection item appears.

C6400 Zero-crossing signal problem
• The engine PWB does not detect the
zero-crossing signal for the time
specified below.
At power-on: 3 s
Others: 5 s

Causes: Poor contact in the connector terminals.
Remarks: Check the connection of connectors YC7
on the engine PWB and YC2 on the power
supply PWB, and the continuity across the
connector terminals. Repair or replace if
necessary.

Causes: Defective power supply PWB.
Remarks: Check if the zero-crossing signal is output
from YC2-11 on the power supply PWB. If
not, replace the power supply PWB.

Causes: Defective engine PWB.
Remarks: Replace the engine PWB if C6400 is detected

Kyocera FS1118, error code C6400, how do I resolve This?

Hi

Error C6400 appears in Kyocera FS118 when Zero crossing signal problem occurs i.e when the engine PWB doesnt detect the zero crossing signal. This can occur due to --

#1 Poor contact in the connector terminals.
#2 Defective power supply PWB.
#3 Defective engine PWB.

To reset it from Mainatince mode turn the power switch off and open the front cover. Now, turn the power switch on and press the system menu/counter key to enter the maintenance mode.

Hello, the c6000 is the Fuser heater 1/2 defective --- but is you are getting the c6400 --- is a zero cross signal error which means defective PWB. You must replace the engine PWB or the power source PWB and check for correct operations.

The cheapest route would be to replace the fuser but with the c6400 code I believe you would just be throwing your money away.
