Unfortunately, I don't think you can connect this sub-woofer without the rest of the components of the HTS3440/37 DVD Home Theater System or a related Philips home theater system. The speakers in the system are hard-wired with a colored plug that you connect to the sub-woofer. Then you need connect the inter-connect cable between the sub-woofer to the DVD Player of the system. Sub-woofers that aren't part of a home theater system connect to a receiver with a digital audio RCA cable. One example is here: https://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-ULTRA-Subwoofer-Cable-Feet/dp/B003FVYXY0 . Then the speakers also connect to the receiver.
Even if you find another Philips Home Theater system that is missing the sub-woofer, I wouldn't rule out a change in the pin arrangement for the inter-connect cable that would cause the system to fail. I can't find any sources for a replacement inter-connect cable; the part number isn't in the manual that I can find.

this is what i have on mine i used a 3.5 mm jack as an INPUT and i also have a set of female RCAs next i will be replaceing the plugs for speakers and putting standard speaker terminals

Unless you are good with wiring and can accept having the front cover broken, then you can do it yourself. The speaker protector can be gently pried off but will probably break if not done perfectly. If you get the front cover off, there should be 4 screws holding the speaker. Remove them and then you can see inside. Take note of how the resisters are attached. You may need to solder if they are separated. If you are confident handling this job, go for it, if not, take it to your local repair shop.

There are enough mentions in the link to make me think the pump they use has issues. These machines need dealer service every 12 months depending on use. My commercial machines were stripped, cleaned and serviced every month. One machine (Airport Lounge) served a thousand cups a day!

Does the screen go to the top of the page by any chance if so their is a possible cable problem that links your PC to your monitor, to repair this you must take it to a electrical repair shop, its quite a small job and your screen should be back up and running in no time, it happened to my packard bell monitor aswel and i managed to get it repaired.
