Dear Sir, dear Madam, We have a big problem with safe GX B0709. We lost the key and now we cannot open the safe. We did not get a red sign for low battery and now the battery tension is all gone. There is a number 312988 at the backside of the little clip after which the keyhole is situated. Can you please help us. Can you get us a new key? Best regards, Mrs. A. van Kuik

I could have thought myself the solution you gave. The solution you gave is no solution, so I think it's a shame I have to pay for it.

No, sorry, but the solution was not helpful.
    I've bought a new safe.

To get a new key made -- you should stop by your local locksmith shop ( bring those numbers with you and the serial # and make and model ) they can cut you a new key.

Dear Mrs A. Please do not post any identifying information here at this web site for your own security and safety.

This question has been asked here at this web site several times. Here is what I found: http://www.fixya.com/support/p966367-safe_international_digital_electronic_sa

The upshot of the comments is you will have to get a lock smith to open this safe for you, since you cannot find the key. For security reasons, the manufacturer will not provide keys based on model or serial numbers to just anyone. It is for that reason that you must have a locksmith open this door for you. I suggest you have several keys made by your lock smith and you distribute them to trusted family members so you don't find yourself in this uncomfortable situation again.

Thank you for your question at FixYa.com and please come again.

Dear Mrs VK: I am sorry you are not happy.

My friend, I thought you were sincere when you asked the question and I answered it as sincerely as I could. There is no other solution. What kind of "safe" would you have if you could get it open through a simple inquiry on the internet? A new Key? Sure, I will drop it in the mail. Some special power source to restore and open your door? Great stuff for your local cat burglar, wouldn't you say? I have to agree with you, you should have thought about this solution yourself. But, far be it from me to judge your knowledge and/or experience base - you asked the question and I did the best to shed light on what seemed to me to be an insurmountable problem to you. Just because you don't like the answer is no measure that the answer has no value. As I pointed out, the question is not unknown here at FixYa.com and the web site urges guests, such as yourself, to search the data base of answers for free - it is all in the terms of use which you said you agreed to when you opened your account.

You may not be aware, I want to tell you this: I am a volunteer worker here NOT an employee. I work from my home (as to all other 'experts') answering questions for people who ask them. We qualify as experts by favorably answering a certain number of questions. Once in a while there is a little $ involved, usually not. Of the more than 10,000 people who answer questions here at this site, I am rated in the top 300. I am probably so far down because I take questions that other experts will not take. I answered your question and now you are mad and you will probably demand your $ back - and then you will de-rate me by evaluating my response 'unhelpful'. This is not fair and is unjustified. Well my friend, that is the way the cookie crumbles for me.

Thank you for your interest in web site which specialized in providing helpful assistance to the Do It Yourself person. I do hope you will consider this site in the future when you have a question you are not able to solve. I encourage you to first search the site for your question then if necessary post your question in the free section. If you are dissatisfied with the answer in the free section, you can always resort to the pay section and speak with the 'expert' of your choice via text in the pay section, Chat feature or live on the telephone. There is also a local help section where you seek help from a local (in your town) source - a free service to you.

Thank you for listening and thanks for your feedback.

There is another option I should have mentioned to you. I suggest you contact the manufacturer and inquire as to the feasibility of returning your safe to them for them to open it for you. I searched high and low for the manufacturer based on the information you posted as well information posted here as well other web sites ... I cannot discover the manufacturer, and therefore I cannot supply you with a link for their web site. Perhaps you have the name of the manufacturer in your records and can search it on your favorite search engine.
