Hello
My T-Mobile MDA used to connect to my home and office wifi but for few weeks whenever I want to connect to internet, the following message appears: HTTP ERROR $CODE$
$MESSAGE$
REQUEST URI=/
I tried to call T-Mobile customer support but those genius people have no clue of this error message.

Any solution??
Thanks.

The Error code is a network issue more specifically. If thats coming up when your connected to Wifi it means you're not using the wifi connection. You would have to contact T-Mobile and they may need to remove and re-add the feature to the account which could take up to 3 days to take effect. If you have Total Internet, you can simply change the APN on the phone to internet2.voicestream.com and should hopefully correct the error message as well...
Start > Settings > Connections > Connections tap Manage existing connections, then edit the T-Mobile Data connection and find the APN and change it.

To force wifi to work, try this:

  • Set the wifi connection to connect via My Work Network instead
  • Then on the phone go to Start > Settings > Connections > Connections then tap on the Advanced tab at the bottom
  • Tap Select Networks, and set the top dropdown box to My Work Network and tap OK
  • Remember to change that back to T-Mobile Data when you're not using wifi with the phone.
  • Try browsing the web again.

Also check out http://forum.xda-developers.com and see the forums for Wizard which is the HTC model for the phone. Follow the forum to flash the ROM on the device to a different ROM version. You should be able to find a more stable ROM version but the information on the forum may be difficult to understand.

I've gotten that a couple times when trying to connect via the internal modem, a simple reset usually fixed it. If your wifi settings are messed up make sure your wifi switch is on, ensure it is enabled in com manager too. Also, try removing the wireless network via the software and adding it again. if all that fails do a hard reset. If that fails you are pretty much out of luck. I had two MDA's.... they both slowly got **** as months went by and i constantly had to reload the firmware, you may want to consider a different model
