There are lots of compatibility issues with vista and hardware. Please run the vista compatibility program from microsoft.com prior to trying to install. It will tell any and all potential issues

have a problem with v1.5 a6566ims always ask if in start setting bios date month and year, and the second when the computer restarted there was no display on the monitor even though I have changed battere, VGA or memory, whether the BIOS has been damaged? what should i do please help. thanks

i have been having the same sort of problem with my IX38 quad GT and after hours of trying various things i have decided i need to see if the problem is my processor. let me explain...
i have an abit IX38 that i have been running with an E6550 dual core processor. had it for years now with no problems. i recently got a Q9450 quad core from ebay to upgrade, and ran into problems. basically i can't get the **** thing to boot with the Q9450. when i try to boot with the 8pin ATX processor plug, it goes straight to post code 8.3. and shuts off. if i remove the 8pin ATX it will boot to code 8.7. and run for about 15s and then reboot back to 8.7. post code 8.7. is a check CPU voltage issue. code 8.3. says something about saving back to the CMOS stack and the manual says its a psu issue.
i have tried pretty much everything, from changing the psu, to gpu to RAM and more with the same results. so at this point i wanted to get anyone who might have something to say about the situation to comment on if it might be the processor is bad, and i got burned on something from ebay. i do have one last step, and that would be to rule out the mobo (by having my bro install it in his computer which has a Q9450)
