DU error code

I have a kenmore elite oasis washer. It stoppedin the middle of a cycle and is showing the letters "du." Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it? I've already tried unplugging it. WE just got this thing repaired with a whole new control panel and motor. We were without it for 2 weeks! I would love some advice!

Liz, DU could mean a couple of things. Something is preventing the lock bolt from retracting or the motor control cannot determine if the door lock is in a unlocked state. With the lid closed put it in a manual test mode by pressing any key except for power, start and stop. With all indicator lights off, press and hold for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press and hold for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press and hold for 3 seconds. If done correctly 88 should appear. While this 88 apears press the same key again within 5 seconds. You are now in the manual test mode. Now go over and press the second rinse or extra rinse key. This key will toggle between lock and unlock. See if the lock assy. is working. To exit the test, just unplug the washer for 60 seconds. If you don't have any luck with the test, you will have to do a bunch of tests on the lock mechanism to determine if in fact that is the problem. If it's under warranty, I would have the service company get into that. Catriver
