Fix ECC Error Hard Drive
Try running the sector verification utility particularly of your hard drive manufacturer, which will help in examining each of the sectors and then relocate the bad ones (this way removing those from the sector pool that is available)..

If your A. O. Smith water heater is new, it probably came with an owner's manual. Find where you put yours and check the manual to find out what the ECC code means.

From an owner's manual for a particular A. O. Smith Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater, the code ECC means the heat pump compressor is not functioning.

No that memory is not compatible. The Precision 350 uses memory called RDRAM aka RAMBUS.

Here are the speeds and sizes that are supported.

Memory modules supported PC800-40: 64-, 128-, 256-, 512-MB, non-ECC or ECC

PC1066-32P: 128-, 256-, 512-MB, ECC and 64-, 128-
,256-,512-MB, non-ECC

Minimum memory PC800-40: 128 MB non-ECC and ECC
PC1066-32P: 128 MB non-ECC and 256 MB ECC

Maximum memory PC800-40: 2 GB non-ECC and ECC
PC1066-32P: 1.5 GB non-ECC and ECC

Dell Precision 530 with dual Xeon CPUs. Uses Rambus memory. (4) 256mb ECC modules are installed. It should be a total of 1 gb. However, BIOS only shows 256mb total even though it shows all 4 rambus...
It sounds like like you have multiple issues. When all memory slots are filled with 256 sticks the computer boots but only sees 256 MB instead of 1 gig.
When you install the Crimms it won't boot at all.
You may have an open circuit on one of the Crimms.
As for the computer seeing only 256 MB you may have a bad memory slot on the motherboard.

replace or remove whatever ram chip is faulty, that error refers to a crc check on ecc memory. Or you could just turn off ecc parity checking in the bios. But that simply defeats the object of having ecc memory in the first place

hi simple answer no, this feature is designed for that specific reason, if you have ECC ram you have to enable the ECC support in the bios, ECC ram has a different timing and ways of using the data flow, it is much slower than non ECC ram and uses more voltage, that's why most people prefer normal SD ram or DDR ram, you can however use these in *********** board if you turn the ECC support off, so long as your board will take the specific ram....hope this helps

Dislpay is blank but oven works
HI, you will need to replace this faulty ECC. the chip set that is soldered on this board is damaged as well as the led display. replacing the Electronic Clock Control will fix this issue.

the control board is fine and this explains why the oven is still functional. its the ECC that is faulty.

If you mix ECC and Non-ECC, the system will default to treating all the .... ECC vs Non-ECC there is no harm in doing this but if there is any old ecc the system will run all as ecc
