Same happened to me. I took out original 512K memory from internal slot under the keyboard and replaced it with a new 1G, then added a second 1G module to the external slot on the bottom of the keyboard. Worked fine (but hard drive is giving problems, so another fix is on the way). Please note that removing the keyboard has a few simple steps, but the parts are very sticky, so be careful. Hope this helps.
