I have an error code of EC on panel. What does that mean?

I cleaned the filter yesterday, and it was running fine after that.

My Keystone keeps shutting down with an EC code. My filter is clean, there's suffient space around the unit and the temperature is set to 60. What is the problem?

EC usually means that the compressor overheated while trying to move the refrigerant through the compression part of cycle. This usually happens when the refrigerant is low due to a leak in the system. Sometimes, you can spot the problem when ice builds up around the coils near the leak.

This is not a user-repairable problem. If your dehumidifier is under warranty, contact the manufacturer. The entire system has to be checked to identify the leak. Then after the leak is fixed, the correct amount of refrigerant appropriate to the model has to be added. (In most places, freon and freon replacements must be handled by a trained professional.)

I hope this helps.

My unit runs but doesn’t collect any water and then it stops and EC shows up in the window.

usually, owners manual defines error codes. Otherwise google "(make, model) error codes".
If it isn't blowing warm air, then the compressor isn't working which would be why it isn't making any water.

Fridgeadaire dehumidifier getting an "ec" error code. Room is above 41 degrees...probably about 68. Can I fix sensor, or reset?

the humidity sensor is usually in the front of the unit take the front housing off look for a small long sensor and clean it off it may just be contaminated with dirt so on.

My Humidifier is 2 years old. It worked fine and now there is an "EC" code on panel

Unit malfunction. Dehumidifiers are designed to function within specific temperate ranges, usually between 50 and 80 degrees. Make sure that the ambient temperature of the room is within the range of your dehumidifier. Try not to run it continuously.

EC appears and it doesn't draw water

I contacted CE North America customer service regarding this issue for same unit. They suggested disconnecting for 10 minutes, then reconnecting, turning unit on, and changing settings and run fan on HIGH or TURBO until the EC code goes away. This didn't help with my unit. If this doesn't work, there is no repair provided. Customer Service recommended returning unit to purchase location if under warranty (1 year), however a copy of the original purchase receipt is required. Suggest a call to Customer Service Center at 866-915-1212.

What does P1 mean

t appears to mean "defrosting." In other words, the condenser coils have gotten too cold and are icing up..

The filter is probably full, or the thermostat is faulty. Open it up and clean the filter first.

P1 error code

Take out your filter and clean it, if its dirty your machine can frost up due to the lack of air flow and will not work correctly. Once you clean it, it should be fine.

What Do P1 and P2 Error Codes Mean on My Dehumidifier?

Danby's Consumer Help Line (1-800-263-2629) is always busy. So, I called their General number: 419-425-8627. The receptionist transferred my call to their Service dept. My call was answered in 2 minutes.

The Service Rep. described the following code for my dehumidifier model (DDR657EE):
P1 = Defrosting: the unit will go into Defrost mode periodically to ensure that the parts are working at the right operating temperature. It should be in Defrost (P1) mode for only a brief period of time. If the unit is in Defrost (P1) mode continuously for a couple of hours (or more), then you should call Danby Service for further assistance.

He had no documentation of a P2 code for my model.

He also described other General Codes (applicable to most Dehumidifier/Humidifier models):
E1 = Not enough water
E2 = Not draining
E3 = Water temperature too cool
E4 = Overflow Switch activated
E6 / E7 = Problem with Temperature Sensor

I hope that helps.
