Hello, Libbe -

Fixya.com, a website intended for asking and answering questions on how to go about REPAIRING THINGS, has no affiliation with NetZero.

To be honest, NetZero does not have the best reputation regarding stopping emails which are infected with malware, which have links to websites which will infect your computer, or which have infected attachments.

I hope you have good anti-virus software installed on your computer and that you update it and scan your computer for malware daily. If you do not, you are just asking for trouble.

If you do not have anti-virus software installed on your computer, ask your computer expert regarding what he / she recommends. Also, the well-respected website CNet.com reviews and recommends anti-virus software. Through Download.com:
http://download.cnet.com/windows/
CNet helps identify both FREE and PAID anti-virus software which can be downloaded safely (and installed afterwards.)

Best wishes.

SOURCE: probable virus had entered my mp4...please help me asap

hi ,

Format your MP4 player by following below steps

1. Open a command prompt within Windows:
START >> RUN >> cmd

2. At the command prompt type:
format x:/FS:FAT (where x is the letter of your "removable disk"

3. When warned "WARNING! The cluster size for this volume, 64K bytes, may cause application compatibility problems, particularly with setup applications. The volume must be less than 2048 MB in size to change this if the default cluster size is being used.

Proceed with Format using a 64K cluster (Y/N)?" choose Y

4. Do not name the volume when prompted - just press "ENTER" for none.

5. After format is complete, go to Windows Explorer and you shold now be able to create folders and add MP4s again.

SOURCE: when i open any folder in any disks, it opens an another window.

I guess your internet is still working fine. Here is the best and cheapest way to remove virus from your system using internet.
1. Go to the task manager (or Press Ctrl + Alt + Del)
2. Go to the processes field mentioned on top
3. Reorder the processes according to the Username("Username" is a column in detailed view of the processes)
4. Under the Administrator or the current user field check for all the processes' names. They all end with ".exe"(for eg. explorer.exe)
5. Check for those filenames in the following trusted website.
http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/
If it is not available, then its a virus.Select it right click and "end process" .

Good luck.In case of further doubts please post your comments. Please do rate my solution.

SOURCE: infection of win32/virut

Go to www.malwarebytes.com and download and install their free Anti-malware program. Update it and run a scan of your system. Fix any problems it finds.
Also see here or here or here or here if you wish to receive guided help with this problem, choose one only, and in that case follow the instructions given for the forum before attempting to fix it yourself...
There are also self-help guides at each of those sites if you wish to do it yourself, but since you have already tried unsuccessfully, it might be worth waiting for a trained malware removal expert to guide you through the process...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
