I have googled error 49 and it said it could be the hot or cold water valve. The hot water valve was swollen so I replaced it and my washing machine still comes up with the same error code.
Is there anything else I can do to fix the problem and I do not have an instruction manual either?
Thanks

Fault 49 usually points to the cold inlet valve. I have come across many with this fault that the valve tests ok and it needs the motor controller replaced.

i have the same problem now. the original problem started with the main board buggered and machine not turning on. once i replaced the main board and set it up, the machine run sweet for two washes then went out on a fault 49 and i have not been able to get around this. the coils tested up to the correct resistance so i swapped them to see if the fault number changed...and it did not so i am now wondering if there is a way to clear all faults and start from scratch. does any one know how to clear faults on a IW712 Fisher Paylel ???
