The error is caused by a blockage in the pump you need to drain the washer using the black tube near the pump drain or by unscrewing the pump cover next to it on excel 8kg washer these are at bottom right of machine. when all water out remove pump cover that you loosened to get water out then check for blockages inside. the pump has a device inside that should move round freely remove all debris replace and try to drain using drain cycle this will finish and hey presto back to normal!!
Hi
I've got a Siemens S14.39 washing machine and I'm getting the F:18 error message displayed when trying to wash clothes.
I've checked in the manual and done what it says and also as someone has stated on the forum, I have cleaned out the pump.
There wasn't actually any blockage in the pump and I've removed all the water and tried this many times.
However each time it comes to the last minute of the wash (the empty function) it stay on this for a while then displays the F:18 error again!
Any ideas to what the problem could be as cleaning the pump doesn't seem to work?
I had the exact same problem. The blockage was not in the pump in my case either. Instead the blockage was where the hose were the waist water goes out (the hose that comes out from the back side of the machine and goes to the floor drain) is connected to the pipe coming from the sink. That pipe goes then to the floor drain.
So I suggest the following - make sure that the hose (and if the hose is connected to a pipe) is clear all the way to the floor drain. That solved my problem!

If you have this problem of a Siemens E14-46 and gets the code F:18 - then see my answer below to harbindrakhi below. The blockage might be in the hose that goes from the backside of the machine to the floor drain. /Niclas
Same problem and the cause was a blocked drain hose. This time it only was blocked by water.. .. frozen water :) There is about -20C outside and the hose goes in front of a poorly insulated garage door... ...so, greetings from finland :)
Thank you for the help and it is really help me a lot. I tried what you've said and it works. I can use it now. Thanks a lot

Thanks for the help, tried all of the above but still had problems, the man who moved the washing machine and replumbed it in for us never cut of the end of the pipe where the waste pipe fits to it, so the problem was the waste water pipe.
Hi there, drain the machine at the bottom filter and check your drain pipe after doing so, i found a coin blocked my machine... same error and working like a bomb!!!

Did anyone found a fiber filter inside the pump cover?
